How To Use The Macro Database
To use the Team Gorman Macro Database, simply select the “GRAMS” field and adjust it up or down to make the pro/carbs/fats for that food move up or down. For example, if you select Chicken (raw) and move the amount of “GRAMS” up or down, you will notice the protein and fats move with it. If you need 30 grams of protein at a meal and want to use chicken, simply adjust the “GRAMS” column up or down to get the desired amount of protein out of your chicken.
The “GRAMS” column is the weight your food will weigh in grams on a digital scale. This is always going to be a raw or uncooked weight on the Team Gorman Macro Database. Any cooked measurements are up to you to figure out how to do once the food is cooked. Everything changes when you add water to cook something, or put it on a grill, crockpot etc etc so we elected to stay away from cooked weights.
Some Notes
Please note that not all foods are going to be the same as you may have available to you in your area of the country, or world. What we did was make trips to Walmart since that is a very common store and used most of the generic brands there or popular brands (such as Kraft for mac and cheese). Please check your foods label and compare it to what we have listed here. Most of the time if it is off, it’s still very very close and you can make the adjustment on your own.
Enjoy the FREE Team Gorman Macro Database, we will keep adding things to it each month and making it bigger and better for everyone to use. Our hope is that this will help people enjoy ways to sub in different foods and have some variety in their nutrition plans with as little hassle as possible
